Supporting a Good Cause While Shopping Online

Giving gifts has always been a way to show you care. Now, organizations such as the National Association for Vascular Anomalies (NOVA) are seeing the potential of raising money online for their cause by teaming up with web businesses that offer specialty gifts. NOVA has recently joined forces with GiftsMadePersonal.com to raise money and awareness for Vascular Anomalies.
This partnership between NOVA and GiftsMadePersonal.com was created out of personal reasons. Traci Lebofsky, a consultant for GiftsMadePersonal.com, has a daughter who was diagnosed with a facial hemangioma at one month of age. This benign tumor affects 40,000 infants and children each year. Since her diagnosis, the hemangioma located between Gioia's eyes has gotten bigger. Doctors were concerned that it would obstruct breathing but an eight-month course of steroids kept the tumor in check. "As a parent, it is heart-wrenching for me not knowing when or if the tumor will grow again," states Ms. Lebofsky. "Gioia will have surgery to remove it when she's two and we pray that it won't leave a permanent scar. All I can do is raise awareness and money for research to find a cure or a better treatment for this condition that affects innocent children.
