John R. Naugle, professional clown and creator of the character “Johnny D’Farmer”, has every reason to be disheartened… but he’s not. Being unsuccessful in getting others to take his non-profit initiatives serious, Johnny has had to fund the initial development of them himself (this is the result of his profession’s liability… no one can seem to take him serious). And now that he’s lost his savings and home, he’s seeking assistance to continue developing these from anyone in the local and/or global community. Johnny D’Farmer makes this courageous promise…
“To the individuals who help me locate, lease, and develop a storefront thru which I can produce the "Let's Go! Show", and also simultaneously continue developing all of my various non-profit initiatives, you will be rewarded with being a part of providing beneficial solutions that will eventually have international ramifications for building the health of our global home & family! My ideal choice for a ‘home-base’ would be somewhere in the heart of Atlanta which is fast becoming known internationally as: “The City of PEACE”, and “The City of the Future”.
Through the providential, timely, and synchronicitous assistance of key citizens (whether local or international) John R. Naugle, thru his clown-character Johnny D’Farmer will be able to serve the needs of the greater-good thru these organizations. The goals of the 5 non-profits will be showcased thru the development of a multi-media variety/talk-show called: "Let’s Go! Show". The show will teach that we ALL must "lean into the wind", and be proactive, progressive, assertive, creative, and especially courageous if we are to fulfill more of our goals and dreams.
Johnny D’Farmer is the IDEAL host for the "Let’s Go! Show" because, for years, he’s been told, “You can’t do that!”(Note: in his youth he actually invented: “Johnny can’t read”, and “Johnny can’t add”, etc, etc…) But although he cannot do many things (just as anyone else) he HAS learned to courageously ask others to assist him in learning new things, and THIS is where he excels, and sets a great example for others. Therefore, despite having every reason to be disheartened, particularly because of his current financial & living hardships… amazingly he’s still standing, and he’s still strong. He’s discovered a POWERFUL way to remain positive & courageous, and he wants to bring this growth system to the (eventually HUGE) audience of the "Let’s Go! Show".
Johnny D’Farmer has set the pace for being courageous because he’s laid the groundwork for 5 non-profit organizations, and despite being initially unable to find a way to get others to fund their additional development, he’s kept their potential & future alive thru building them with his own limited income. Following are brief summaries of the 5 non-profits (EACH with international potential for contribution). These will be simultaneously developed thru the "Let’s Go! Show"… (at the new storefront location that can be acquired with the assistance of helpful citizens in the local and/or global community). Note: Although the names of a couple of these organizations may initially seem funny, or odd… Johnny pleads with you to look closely at what can be accomplished with the serious missions in each of these.
1) The Friends of the BIG Chicken Association- This organization was founded in 1993 in response to the threat by KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) that they would tear down the 55’-BIG Chicken Statue, and NOT rebuild it. With the professional support of STAR 94 Radio DJ-- Mr. Steve McCoy, and the grassroots effort of hundreds of thousands around the world, this non-profit was successful in convincing KFC to rebuild the BIG Chicken statue. Since winning the rebuilding initiative, the organization has gone forward with educating ALL (young & old) about the importance of cultivating COURAGE to build character within. And it is important to note that in 1999, the Georgia General Assembly actually passed legislation that required Georgia schools to teach character education [Section 20-2-145 of the Georgia State Code. There are now 27 mandated character traits that must be taught, and the official list begins with COURAGE. In fact, the National Museum Of Patriotism (located here in Atlanta) supports the teaching of all character traits with the curriculum “Patriotism, Citizenship, and You”. This curriculum is distributed to all 1,876 schools in Georgia, impacting 1,500,000 students annually). However, The Friends of the BIG Chicken Association (thru Dulcinea The BIG Chicken’s quote) is proud to be leading the example of teaching about COURAGE. Here’s her quote:
"Cluck, cluck… remember me, I’m Dulcinea The BIG Chicken.
In everything be courageous! You have nothing to fear.
You cannot be a big chicken because I’m the one-and-only BIG Chicken.
Therefore you will accomplish your goals and dreams.
Be a friend-- wise, loving, and peaceful.
And especially be courageous.
Cluck, cluckity-cluck."
2) "GKC" International Airport- Atlanta’s airport is "The World's Biggest And Busiest Airport!" This non-profit (the "GKC" International Airport Initiative) is inviting honorable 'PEACE-loving' citizens throughout the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, the U.S.A., and ALL over the Earth to sign an Internet Peace-petition to assist in renaming it in honor of contemporary history’s 3-most internationally accomplished, recognized, and respected Nobel PEACE Prize recipients... Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Jimmy Carter. Naming the airport: "GKC" International Airport (honoring Gandhi, King & Carter) is the BEST alternative! As this petition adds many, many thousands & thousands of names over the coming months, Atlanta will eventually become known internationally as -“The City of PEACE.” -- This non-profit organization/PEACE initiative/Internet petition serves the 'cause of global peace' well, and also promotes the City of Atlanta as being an international city, and a peaceful city!!! So far there are individuals signing from 29 USA states, plus 42 countries of the Earth! Please examine the Press Release: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2003/9/prweb80304.htm
3) International DREN Society- This organization teaches both children & grownups how to say, “I’m a dren!” This is a new word (soon to be added to the dictionary) and is derived from the Latin word: Drengr; which means- “valiant person, one who stands firm”. The word 'dren' is a noun and provides the very first positive connotation to natural drug-free living. Initially introduced in Georgia thru the Jessye Coleman Council PTA, a dren is someone who gets high on LIFE and does not need harmful ‘supplements’. The word ‘dren’ is inside the word children. We all need to aspire to maintain the innocence & happiness of a child excited about LIFE. And if we’re not happy, then we need to find natural solutions to remedy this. “Dren” is also in the word ‘adrenalin’. As we learn to rely upon the accepted beneficial chemical (adrenalin) that is found naturally within the body, then we can safely ‘get high on LIFE.’ This project has received numerous municipal, and several statewide proclamations for DREN Month. The goals of the International Dren Society could easily be aligned with the Drugs Don't Work program in Georgia (this an affiliate program of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Georgia Department of Human Resources. It is designed to assist businesses in achieving drug-free certification).
4) Clowns of the Earth Club- The goal or mission of this organization is: “To identify & encourage the clown that is within all of us who celebrate LIFE!” Have YOU Googled “Humor Therapy” lately? As of 07/07/04 there were 717,000 results, or ‘hits’. “Humor Therapy” is an under-reported & under-appreciated (yet very, VERY important) healing modality. We ALL need to grow as ‘humor therapists’… (as ‘clowns’). Whether traditionally dressed as a clown (with the big shoes, red nose, make-up, and costume), or non-traditionally dressed (without the conventional clown ‘get-up’), we are ALL clowns ‘in general’ when we fit the description thru our silly actions. When we encourage & enliven those around us thru our clean & charitable comical character-capers, we perpetuate the fine inspirational example of world-renown clown, Mr. Red Skelton! In 1993 the Clowns of the Earth Club had the privilege of bestowing upon Mr. Richard Bernard “Red” Skelton (1913-1997) a Lifetime Achievement Award for all of his contributions to the art of clowning over the years. “Red” created over 7 characters--- “Clem Kadiddlehopper”, “San Fernando Red”, “Freddy the Freeloader”, and “Willy Lump-Lump”, to name a few. In 1997, when Red passed away, the Clowns of the Earth Club hosted a huge memorial service at The BIG Chicken Statue whereby fans and clowns throughout Georgia could come and pay their last respects.
"God's children and their happiness are my reasons for being."
-- Red Skelton
5) 2001: An Earth Odyssey- This is a 501(c)(3) charitable trust/umbrella organization that aspires to address global environmental and humanitarian issues (www.2001-An-Earth-Odyssey.org). The organization's Mission Statement is: To create a HUGE new international wave of COURAGE, HOPE & VISION for the future, and provide valuable education & encouragement by eventually bestowing on everyone (for free) through the Website, a comprehensive, linked & cross-referenced Internet directory of the 100,000+ non-profit organizations in the world which work to improve the environmental health of our home (Mother Earth), and the humanitarian health of our family (all peoples everywhere).
"Mother Earth, our home.
Her people, our family."
Aside from the 5 non-profit organizations being developed, there is also a VERY important Georgia statewide initiative being advanced thru the efforts of Johnny D’Farmer. Although upon the initial inspection of this initiative one may think it absurd, humorous, and a waste of time, the public is invited to seriously consider the long-term benefits that will be provided when success is achieved with it. Fact: Through humor, powerful educational messages can be delivered effectively, and remembered for longer periods of time! The name of this particular historical project is: The “BIG Chicken Honored On Official Georgia State Flag" Initiative. Georgia voters were recently allowed to vote for a flag design that they preferred, however Johnny D’Farmer was unable to have the BIG Chicken Flag alternative added to the ballot in time. Fortunately the old referendum was a ‘non-binding’ one, and when Georgia’s children (and also supportive grownups) eventually have their vote counted thru the BIG Chicken Flag petition-drive, then the Official Georgia State Flag will eventually be changed to honor the BIG Chicken! The success with this project will (very ironically) prove to be one of the MOST important educational decisions made, and will result in not only teaching Georgia’s grownups & children about cultivating COURAGE, but also grownups & children throughout the USA & Earth! Speaking of cultivating COURAGE, Johnny D’Farmer has just published his first book, which is an exclusive (1st ever) interview with Dulcinea The BIG Chicken. All proceeds of the book are earmarked to fund the further development of the "Let's Go! Show", and the 5 non-profits mentioned above. The goal of the book (actually it’s an eBook), or ‘Interview with a chicken’, is to help everyone to grow in the MOST important of virtues, COURAGE. To purchase your own copy, please visit: http://www.Get-Courage.com
Internationally renowned author CS Lewis establishes the importance of cultivating courage in one’s life through the following well-known quote: “Courage is not simply one of the virtues. Courage is the form of EVERY virtue at its testing point.” Johnny D’Farmer has discovered a unique, entertaining, and educating way to help us all to cultivate courage in our own lives and he does this by introducing us to Dulcinea. He proclaims, “There’s nothing more important than to cultivate and excel in COURAGE, because if we can grow in this one important area, then we will also grow in every other important area! We can begin to understand the importance of COURAGE when we memorize and regularly recite Dulcinea’s quote!” Johnny says, “Note: the BIG Chicken is really the originator of COURAGE! And the importance of COURAGE can be realized when one memorizes and regularly recites Dulcinea’s quote (mentioned above)…
Johnny’s closing appeal to all of his “cousins” (everyone locally & internationally) is this:
“Let’s be courageous and work together to build up the health of our global home & family. We're NOT promised tomorrow, so let's be grateful today. Please assist me with a ‘hand-up’… (I don’t want a ‘hand-out’). Please help me to meet some expenses, and to also locate and develop the future international headquarters of the "Let’s Go! Show" so that I can expand these VERY promising non-profits & initiatives. I seriously need the assistance of accountants, attorneys, producers, managers, business professionals, fitness-trainers, writers, financiers, corporate sponsors, agents, computer-geeks, broadcasters, philanthropists, schedulers, actors, marketers, set-builders, speech-coaches, musicians, benefactors, web-designers, stunt coordinators, ‘side-kicks’, and all available ‘cousins’, etc, etc… Let’s unite & network local and international environmental, humanitarian, artistic, and educational projects to cultivate courage, hope, peace, love, and wisdom for ALL! Let’s go!”
Dulcinea the BIG Chicken (2001: An Earth Odyssey’s Ex-Officio Grande Mascot) has as her life’s mission to teach others about becoming more courageous. John Randolph Naugle, creator of the professional clown character, Johnny D’Farmer, has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and is a Certified Georgia Master Gardener. He has donated his time and talent to 100+ non-profit organizations throughout metro-Atlanta (75+ letters of reference available), performed at the White House, and also has worked to establish the 5 non-profits mentioned above (one of which awarded Red Skelton a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’). In addition to this, he was concerned enough about the well-being of his community that he campaigned to be elected Mayor of Marietta, Georgia in 1993 & 1997. Johnny D'Farmer also currently serves as official mascot for Georgia Writer's Association (www.georgiawriters.org)
