Babu Ramappa Kamble (42) was arrested from Bhandup after a tip off that he would be coming to meet his son there.

Eighty-seven persons lost their lives and many more were hospitalised after consuming hootch in Vikhroli on December 25, 2004 at Kamble's, where he allegedly mixed methanol in the liquor to make it stronger, crime branch officials said.

Eighteen people, including Kamble's wife Asha, had been already arrested in connection with the case. Kamble is said to be the main accused.

He was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy and other relevant IPC sections.
