Sugar have released their video eye glass in the UK – the Sugar VG1. These produce a virtual 48” screen in front of your eyes allowing a full visually immersive experience, while the built in earphones deliver a dynamic sound.

Having connectivity to any video source is a real bonus: one can move from using their iPod video to playing a game on their PSP/Xbox/PS2/PS3/WIi then move onto watching a movie from their portable dvd player or checking video playback from your camcorder, computer and some of the latest mobile phones.

The VG1 boasts the strongest resolution in the market at 432 x 240 pixels giving a much better picture compared the rest that we tested. It also has a built in rubber reflection blocker to solve the age old issue of bad reflections from strong sunlight. Overall we are very impressed with the image quality.

Another problem that Sugar has masterfully cracked is getting the device to fit to a variety of faces using a clever adjustable nose pad and adjustable angles of the ear rests. The product can also be used by optical glasses wearers – which is a relief for some!

Battery life lasted 2 movies and a game session which was around 4 hours in total. Subsequent charging was simple as the unit comes with a built in wall charger . This device also comes with different handy AV connecting jacks which allows connection to everything we could think of.
